STEVE SLATKIN IS AN AWARD WINNING GRAMMY WINNER! Steven Slatkin is one of the music world's most in-demand arrangers, conductors and recording artists. He has created lush orchestrations for many of today's most popular television programs including "The Good Wife," "The Night Shift," "Sleepy Hollow" and "Devious Maids." Steven has also conducted or arranged for dozens of artists including Bette Midler, Olivia Newton John, Michael Feinstein and The Philharmonia Orchestra. He has also won two Emmy Awards for his arrangements on "The Good Wife." Born in New York City, Steven began piano lessons at the age of four. He began composing music at the age of ten and continued his studies throughout high school. Steven attended the University of Miami, Florida where he studied with renowned film composer Jerry Goldsmith. Throughout college, Steven played with regional orchestras and was an active member of the Miami Dade College Symphony Orchestra. He also had the opportunity to play with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain during a tour of Europe. In these groups he performed throughout Latin America, Europe and Asia as well as major venues in North America such as Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. When Steve was nineteen he moved to Los Angeles to attend the Dick Grove School of Music. He graduated with highest honors and continued his studies with the renowned composer and conductor, Leonard Rosenman. During this time Steven also studied with two-time Academy Award™ winning composer John Williams; who is most well known for composing the scores for the Star Wars, Superman and Indiana Jones film series. After a successful run as a studio musician in Los Angeles, Steven began composing music for television and film. He won his first Emmy Award™ in 2006 for his work on "The Good Wife. "He has since received two more Emmy Awards for his work on the show. He has also garnered Emmy Award nominations for "The Night Shift," "Devious Maids" and "Sleepy Hollow." Although Steven is known predominantly as a composer, he is also an accomplished pianist, conductor, arranger and orchestrator. As a conductor he has worked with The Philharmonia Orchestra in London, Simon Rattle in Berlin and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra in Los Angeles. Steven has also performed in concert with many artists including Olivia Newton John, Bette Midler, Michael Feinstein and Barry Manilow. Steven's orchestra orchestrations have been used in the soundtracks of the films "The Good Wife," "Devious Maids," "Sleepy Hollow," "Gossip Girl" and more recently on the Netflix original series, "The Crown." As a recording artist Steven Slatkin has issued albums on Columbia Records, Warner Bros./Sire Records and Sony Music Entertainment.
